Mayday 2021
159th Mayday. The longest standing tradition in Utah. This was Paytons last year participating as a little girl. How cool that she gets to be part of something so big. Our world needs more traditions, so it’s pretty special she was able to dance the Maypole this year. Due to Covid Mendon was unable to have the girls dance in 2020. Which made this year extra special. She may have hated the dresses and white socks but she really made a effort to practice everyday and really enjoy something so important to Mendon.
At no surprise Payton had family and friends there to watch her. Grandpa George and Grandma Marie weren’t able to make it but they made sure to FaceTime the entire dance. Dad was also there in awe of his baby girl. Grandmas; Jan, Jackie and Storm loved being able to support you. And of course our friends Autumn, Cammy, and the kids. How lucky are you to have so many friends and family to admire you. Of course myself included. I couldn’t be more inspired by you. You have such a beautiful life ahead of you. You’re such a beautiful human.
Now fingers crossed when you’re a Junior in High School you’ll want to be part of the court. Even better the Mayday Queen?? A mom can only hope.
Payton I loved watching you be part of something so important. Traditions are what keeps the past alive. Never sit on the side. Be the girl who is happy to take part. Make yourself known. I know that’ll be hard for your shy self. But let the world see your pretty face. Give yourself the freedom to be you.
Your daddy and I are beyond blessed to have you as our baby girl. You’ll forever be our Princess. My better half. I’m so proud of you Sweet P.
Xoxo
