To my beautiful daughter !
Sweet Sweet P! What a year. Do you know how you study butterflies when your in kindergarten? You bring a caterpillar, put it into a safe home, then watch it form into a cocoon, then a beautiful butterfly. After you see the beauty its wings you let them go. Well my sweet babe you are that caterpillar. You've been in that cocoon for a few years but this year, my dear, you've formed into a butterfly. I'm not quite ready to let you fly but til you're ready to fly ill be watching you! You are so remarkably stunning. Perfection so to speak!
You decided to step out of your comfort zone and start dancing! Hip-Hop has been perfect for you! You're a lot like your mom when it comes to being coordinated. Meaning, we aren't. Sorry about that! But let me tell you, you have done so well! So far you've had two dance recitals, both you did amazing! One more to go, fingers crossed you want to dance after the summer lets up. It's been so much fun watching you learn. Getting on stage in front of people is hard, I couldn't be more proud.
Two months after turning 12 you started your period. One thing I'm not allowed to do is to tell anyone. I guess I will blog about it instead (: One day you'll appreciate me doing so. You have handled it so well. You hate it, what young lady or really grown adult doesn't? I am so proud of you!
We decided to keep you in gymnastics but rather than classes we switched you to private lessons. It has helped you so much. Also hoping you stick with it. The other week you were in my room practicing your handstands. You finally perfected it when your luck ran out. You got into a hand stand and came down hard on the corner of my dresser with the top of your foot. OUCH!!! It swelled right up. You are still trying to walk right. Luckily no broken bones.
You've struggled with Kendrey being so far away now that she's in Malad. She and her family are homesteading. Ill admit I'm jealous. Of course we are so sad she's so far away! Because you don't get to see her as often as you'd like, you've been forced to put yourself out there a little bit more. Your so calm and chill finding someone who is the same as you and Kendrey has been tough on you. Mallory Christy has been our saving grace. You have all the friends and cousins in the world but also like me you like having a best friend. Mallory is a perfect friend for you!
Grandma Jackie and the five of us (dad was at work) took a road trip to Wyoming to play in the mountains with Uncle Tyler and Aunt Hiedy. Tyler worked at Big Sandy Lodge, we couldn't pass up visiting his hillbilly butt. We stayed in a freezing cold cabin. Thank goodness Grandma is a light sleeper because she's the reason we didn't freeze to death. Shockingly you loved it! You rode a horse for the first time. You looked complacent. Like you belonged. Of course when you got to spend time with your baby cousin, Madelin you were in heaven!!
Mom ran away so dad took you all on a date. You loved the go-carts and the zoo. Nothing warms my heart more when dad has those special bonds with you kids.
Both Dad and I were super lucky to go on a field trip with you! Nothing better than sitting on a bus filled with crazy sixth graders. The trip was a blast. Thanks for letting us join you!
Eeeek one of my favorite things we did this year was drag you all to Thriller!! It was a thrill to say the least.
Picking pumpkins with you will forever be a family tradition.
First parade!!!! You and Brylee was boring to say the least. Try for a little more excitement next time will ya?
Your 12th Birthday!!!! Friends party consisted of a movie and yogurt-land. Your dad and I survived it!
For Halloween you wore your Hip-Hop costume and I must say you were the cutest.
Guess who got COVID? You (ok we all did) but it took you out! But after ten days girl you were ready to get back out into the real world again.
Boys VS Girls Gingerbread house competition. GIRLS WIN!!!
Gift exchange with Kendrey!
Christmas was wonderful. You got skis this year. Its February have you used them yet? Nope!!!! EYE ROLL!!!! DAD!!!!!
You and I ran away for a girls night while the boys hit up the Jazz game. We ate at your favorite place to eat, Costa Vita. A nice man paid for our food and even gave us extra. We were spoiled. Then we both got pedicures. Afterwards shopping for baby clothes. Your all time favorite thing to do, shop for baby clothes. Thank you for going out with me I loved every minute of it.
Happy Valentines Day to you, daddy spoiled you this year with Calico Critters. Those and babies are all you play with now days. You're getting big baby girl. Just yesterday you were dressing up in little dresses and twirling around calling yourself princess.
I love you young lady! I celebrate you as you get older. I cherish all of the small laughs and giggles from you. Keep being the sweet girl you are. Love everyone. And always put yourself first.
