Life in a pocket
The last week has been full of some special events, some sad and some
exciting. First off Dennie has been gone for what seems like a very
long time. His schedule seems to take all the time he has. Originally he
works two weeks on and one week off. But it hasn't been going that way
for personal reasons. So I find myself alone 99% of the time. I also
find myself very lonely and wishing things could be differnt. But as I
have mentioned before this is whats best for us, for now. I know things
will get better but my patients is running thin theses days.
For example the other day I mentioned to Dennie how exhausted I was. He made the wrong move by saying "maybe I should just come home so I can help you more." Not only does that make me so angry but it also hurts me knowing that I sometimes have to admit I frequently need help at my "job". (That's what so many people call being a mom now days. It's their job to be a mom.) I don't know why I got so mad at him for it but it seemed to really upset me. One thing I will never Happily, Proudly admit is that I need help every so often. I guess it shows the extent of my exhaustion getting mad at him for saying that. ooops. Sorry babe.
Being mom is beyond hard after all you are: a maid, cook, therapist, coach, taxi driver, actor, librarian, you fix broken toys, you wash your kids a million times a day, you brush teeth morning and night, you chase dreams away, wipe bums all day, and so so much more. And that's not even including what you do at home, gardener, maid, and such. Its a long list that describes being a mother and its exhausting at times. Momma needs a vacation sometime soon. I don't think I'm the busiest momma on earth and I don't like to take credit for being "amazing" but I am doing my very best at being what seems and feels often like a single mom.
Saturday night my amazing mom met the kids and I in Preston for the demolition derby. Boy was that a long night! But we still managed to have a great time. Mom spoiled us all!
Sunday she came up to Logan to spend a few hours with us. We went shopping. I swear my mom cast the magic potion she keeps in her purse on my kids, they were fairly good. Gavin slept the entire time!! I must add I hate shopping with my children sometimes. Theres to many of them. They win every time!! I was THAT mom that had a screaming baby the entire trip to the grocery store the other day. I vow to never go shopping again with a baby. Of course its void because tomorrow I have to go.... Anyway every time mom comes up I call it my therapy session, because that woman is probably the only reason I'm fairly sane :) Love you momma dearest!
On another note we unfortunately lost an amazing mom this last week. For some reason Ill never figure out, I'm so beyond soft heart-ed so I was hit hard knowing Grandma Hymas left for Heaven before I could say goodbye. I would go visit my dad and Jan at home and couldn't leave without seeing Grandma Hymas and giving her a big hug. She is such a beautiful woman and so kind.
Yesterday I went to her memorial service. It was really hard seeing Jan, dad, and all of grandmas family in so much grief. My favorite memory of Maxi was going to her house on Monday nights and raiding her fridge for chocolates. She always had a grocery bag full of chocolates. I don't think I ever seen Maxi without a smile of her face even close to the end, a month or so before she passed was when I visited last, she was smiling and looking as beautiful as ever. Today was her funeral, it was a beautiful service. She lived an amazing full life. I'm so grateful I was able to know her.
Going to a funeral gives you a reminder to love life and live it to the absolute fullest. Make sure you leave this world knowing the ones speaking at your funeral are full of words and not lost of words. I'm grateful for the knowledge of Christ our Savor and Heaven. For Maxi is in Heaven happy and at peace.
Today brought not only Maxi's family together but dads too. Randi brought Carly and Grandma Ellen. I loved every second spent with those three. Grandma is a gem. Funny as ever and of course absolutely gorgeous. Baby Carly is a little walker! Good luck miss Randi!! Got to see Grandma and Grandpa Wilcox last night. It was a little late they were so darn cute in their robs watching tv. Such a cute couple they are! So loving, kind, and full of life! I watch and look up to those three grandparents of mine and love them dearly. Another fantastic man, practically family, I got to briefly visit with was Blaine Rounds. I've looked up to the man since I was very young. Hes truly an example of perfection. AKA God. There was so many people I was able to visit with, I'm so grateful to be part of such an amazing family! Dad and Jan's. I hope Jan knows how much we all love her!
Monday was also the first day of swimming lessons!! Royce, Payton, and Mason had so much fun. Even with the weather being like 60 degrees, windy and freezing they jumped in and swam like champs. I'm excited to watch them achieve a new goal in their young life! I'm so proud and cant wait for daddy to see them.

Here's a few pictures of the past week! ENJOY!
Spent some time at Summer Fest with our great friends, The Hunsakers! Look at that popcorn Gavin was holding, it was massive!!!!
Royce was really really tired!!!
Look at this boy. He said "pee" and pointed to the potty. Yep he sure did pee too. It was a popular thing this day.
Of course not having my kids I'm super scattered brained and forgot the keys in the car. This picture is Dad and a fine Preston Officer trying to break into my car at 10:30 at night!
