Day One
What a year 2016 has been. We had many firsts, lasts, sad, hard, happy memories. With losses, new friends, goals reached, goal still unaccomplished, dreams to follow, dreams to be lived, falls, pick me ups, moving into a new place, trips and so much more. We have been lucky, blessed, and so spoiled. Obviously with time never stopping the kids are growing and getting older. Royce is now Eight. Payton, Seven. Mason is Six. And Gavin is a big Four Year Old.
Evey one of them have an attitude that would shock you, each of their own. It is amazing how four children can be so different. Royce loves sports, especially Football. He is so smart. He finds school to be easy. Reading is nothing for him. He is to smart for his own good some times. He can find himself in a lot of trouble! Payton is just like her mom, an airhead. Payton could careless about school. She has three best friends at school, whom are all boys. She cries while doing homework. Eating cereal is her favorite thing to do when she isn't running around. She loves tumbling, gymnastics, coloring, and chocolate! My mini me! Mason is still my unique one. Such a special little man. Right now he is obsessed with the PS4. If I let him he would play everyday all day. Mason is so great at reading and writing. Kindergarten has come easy for him. He has a tattling problem it has been exhausting. Between Royce and Mason fighting and hitting they are lucky to not be grounded all day everyday. Then there is the baby of the family Gavin. Gavin loves preschool and making new friends. Believe it or not he is learning how to read. Slowly but surely. Gavin just started a new thing, crying, crying, and more crying. SPOILED is his middle name. Ok he thinks he is spoiled. He wont eat either. He is making me old to say the least. I love all my unique little people so much.
Dennie and I celebrated our anniversary on December 21st. Ten years together and nine married. Looking back I cant believe we have survived everything life has thrown at us. Let me be the one to admit marriage is not easy. But we are doing it. We are very lucky to have each other.
Some of the many.......
The kids did sports, I ran my first 5k, Gavin was diagnosed with food allergies, Two trips to California, Payton graduated from kindergarten and Mason from preschool. We had our first real camping trip, Dennie reenlisted in the Army. I went to my second (ever) concert. Dennie got a raise. And the biggest one of all WE MOVED! Though it was really hard to leave our incredible neighbors and ward. It has been a great move for us. We have learned who our real friends are, thankfully we still have many! We love the roof over our head no matter how small.
Birthdays!!! If you know the Gallegos Kids you'll know that birthdays are a big deal! And one after another and another and another. September, October, November, and December. Then of course our anniversary and Christmas. We decided this year to skip it ALL and run away. Like I mentioned, California! We all got one birthday gift and tickets to Disneyland and Legoland. I loved how we chose to do this because it made both birthdays and Christmas so much easier. We had a great time! Ill be lying if I didn't admit the Christmas spirit was a bit lower than I wanted. But surrounding myself with family made up for it!
Now that we said good bye to the last year and saying hello to the New Year. Of course we made a few resolutions. Mine an Dennies, whom ever looses the most body fat by March wins $150. I don't have much faith that I will win. Who sticks with their resolutions, not me! But I will try. Mason and Royce want to play football. Payton wants to start soccer and Gavin wants to try Hockey.
I also hope to get on here more often. I find myself getting very forgetful! Please tell me I am not the only 27 year old who cant remember yesterday!!!
Today the kids and I went sledding.... My legs hurt, my bum hurts more. Gavin took a nap after freezing in the 18 degree weather. Royce and Mason are their grumpy selves. And Payton has had three bowls of cereal and watched the ipad for two hours now. Going up and down a hill for two hours really wears out a person. No school tomorrow (rolling my eyes) Maybe we will make a snow man....
Til next time. Happy New Year. I hope you find your self happy, kind, and successful all year round!
