Growing old
Here we are again, another few months have past since my last post. Time is moving fast now days. Last month seems like yesterday. Last year was last week. Yesterday was just a few hours ago. And Today is a day full. Full of all kinds of things. Between school, homework, and sports I have been stretched and my days fly right by.
Royce has started Basketball and is about to join Boy Scouts. Mason made the best decision ever and joined wrestling. And on top of that, Basketball as well. Payton is still loving gymnastics and tumbling. Everyday right now is packed between each sport and school. Tuesday threw Saturday we are running in every direction. I hear it only gets easier. Lets hope. I am so beyond proud of each of my kids for getting out of their shy comfort zone. Speaking of comfort zone, Gavin! Gavin started preschool last September. Today dropping him off was like ripping a band-aid off a wound. Not easy. He was so happy til we got to the door and the little devil came out. He held on so tight and screamed his little lungs out. Leaving Gavin in someone else' care is hard enough, let alone having him cry and squeeze me to death. Little shit, stop making mom feel bad!! I hope when he gets to kindergarten he can love it. He can go with confidence and excitement. Luckily for you little man you have another year to prepare. I am so proud of you Gavin for, every other day, going to school like a champ. You love school. You have learned about 27 new sounds. And a few letters and you're getting your name down slowly but surely. After all you just turned four! Three years down many more to go!
Back to sports. Dennie was home last week after being gone for six weeks. He of course went to as many and all events possible. Royce's first basketball game he sat and watched me yell my lungs out. My kids will never remember me sitting on the side quiet. LOUD AND PROUD!! Anyway after the game Dennie looked at me and said "Thank you for being such a good soccer mom." I may be tooting my horn here but I am so proud of my kids. You will never be the best player, but you will always be the best team player. You are putting yourself out there and trying, that couldn't make a mom and dad more happy. Keep finding hobbies, keep trying, and keep up the energy to play and play the best you can. Royce made four points so far in two games. And Mason has tried his little heart out and has not given up.
After basketball we all run to Masons wrestling meet. He has had four meets and about to have his last one. Each meet he wrestles three different times with three different boys. Ever since hes been little Mason has loved fighting and wrestling with daddy and Royce. So putting him in wrestling was a easy choice. We wanted him to learn to control his anger and his fights. Dennie and I feel wrestling someone rather than hitting him and walking away is a better lesson to learn. I would love Mason to learn you can take a guy down by holding him down. Rather than pushing or hitting him down. I hope he sticks with wrestling for a really long time! We could not be more proud! Since my last post the boys have also had football, ice skating and hockey. All were so great for them.
As I mentioned Payton is in gymnastics and tumbling. She loves it so much. She is way to much like me. A bit of a slow learner at about everything. But shes trying and loving it so much. Payton practices everyday to get all her goals achieved. Between the splits, back bends, hand stands and much more. Get it girl. Mom and dad plan on keeping you in as long as you're interested. You'll only get better and better! Keep it up Princess!
By the end of 2016 the kids will be 8, 7, 6, and 4. I feel now that Gavin is in school we have officially ended the baby stages of his life. One more year to pretend he's my baby boy, whom still gets to sleep with me when dad is gone (don't tell dad). He will always be the baby, my baby!
Royce, Payton, and Mason have not only gotten bigger but smarter too. Today is Election day they were very curious to know all about it. This time around we are a 'Trump' family. Although the kids don't understand it all they tried to learn a little this morning about what mom and dad feel is the best decision for our future President. By the way Royce wants to be the President. Shoot for the stars baby! Any way they are getting so smart. Which is so exciting for me. I have four more chances to learn for myself. These four kids are my chance to further my future. Our future and my education.
Payton has not missed a spelling word yet this year. She has about an hour and a half of homework everyday. Its been a challenge for her but she will get it down before long. She has many firsts, reading longer books, adding, spelling, writing and so much more. First grade is a huge year apparently. Royce is finally getting wrong answers, he is feeling challenged in second grade which is good for him. He is so dang smart but doing so great!! And Mason is bringing home reading books. He loves reading. He was asked to count as high as he could at his assessment, she was shocked when he counted all the way to 49. Mason has a impeccable memory. He memorized his address and phone number in an hour. He also learned how to tie his shoes in a day. Mason keep it up buddy! Gavin loves school for the most part, like I said its a hit and miss for him. His teachers are amazing and it shows. Happy first year of school little man. I am so dang proud of you all! Keep it up you guys and you will reach the stars!
Dennie is still working in Texas for the great company he has been with for a few years now. He works day to night, night to day. Up to 16 hour days, seven days a week. We hope in two years he and I both can be back in school and studying for our majors. We also hope to be in our own house. We'd like to build eventually which is why we recently moved into a smaller place. I loved our home, but being back into the condos reminds me of my babies. Royce was a few months old when we moved into Blackhawk. Payton, Mason, and Gavin were all brought here after the hospital. Although its not the same condo its the same warm feeling. So many people ask how it is being in a condo with four kids. We love it! Not one kid has complained. I love being the tight family we are, we don't care to have space between us. It's so worth the wait. Making a small sacrifice now will better our chances to have a great space here soon.
I say this way to much but I hope to get on here more often. Having a diary for my kids to read when I get old and forgetful will mean the world to me and them. So til next time!
Love,
Mom
